Jim Barnash, Advising Consultant
Jim Barnash's professional background is in financial services and professional training. Active in the financial planning profession and its associations, he lives in the Chicago area and works as a senior consultant with Stride Consulting -- leading the new business development function and providing performance enhancement and personal development coaching for executives, business owners and high-performing professionals.
Besides his career as an independent financial planner, field leader for large broker-dealer firms, corporate executive, and consultant for practice management and development, he trains sales professionals and sales managers, leads development workshops, and delivers keynote talks to various professional and consumer audiences.
Among Jim's various association and educational positions, he has served as president of the National Board of the Financial Planning Association and subsequently as the Association's chair. He has been a board member of the Chicago Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and served as its president. He is a former adjunct faculty member of the College for Financial Planning, and has taught CFPÒ instructional courses for his alma mater, DePaul University. He is a member of DePaul's College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Advisory Council, chairman of the College's Campaign 2012 task force, and co-chairman of DePaul's Planned Giving Advisory Council.
